Once upon a time, there was a village called Happy Living Village. But there was a boy named Sokha who lived with his old mother, and they were very poor. Sokha worked hard every day, but food was always scarce.

One day, while Sokha was searching for firewood deep in the forest, he saw an old woman who looked extremely exhausted and was collapsing under a tree.

Sokha didn’t have much food, but he shared his last piece of cake with the old woman. After eating, she smiled. She told him: ‘You are a kind child, this is your reward.’

Immediately, the old woman vanished. In the spot where she sat, a small tree appeared, completely covered in beautiful, ripe fruit that shone brightly in every color.

Sokha picked one piece of fruit and tasted it. It had an incredibly sweet and wonderful flavor! He picked another piece, and a new fruit grew immediately to replace it. This was the magic tree that gave endless fruit!

Sokha took the fruit home and shared it with his mother. Then, he shared it with all the hungry neighbors and villagers. Soon, everyone in Happy Living Village had enough food.

But there was a neighbor named Chhean, who was very greedy. He was jealous of Sokha and wanted the magic tree all for himself. Chhean secretly followed Sokha to the tree’s location.

Chhean waited until late at night, then he tried to dig up the tree to plant it at his own house. But the moment he started digging, the tree shrank down to the size of a tiny sapling, and all the fruit vanished.

The tree projected a voice that said: ‘My fruit will only grow for those who have generous and sharing hearts. Go away!’ Chhean was extremely scared and ran back home in shame.

From that day on, Sokha remained the keeper of the magic tree, and he continued to share the fruit with all the villagers selflessly. The magic tree taught that greed brings emptiness, but sharing brings endless happiness.
