✨ មេរៀនអប់រំ៖ កម្លាំងពិតមិនមែនស្ថិតនៅលើទំហំទេ តែស្ថិតនៅលើប្រាជ្ញា វិន័យ និងការរួបរួម។ ទោះតូចប៉ុណ្ណាក៏អាចឈ្នះយក្សបានដែរ ប្រសិនបើយើងមានចិត្តអង់អាច និងប្រាជ្ញាឈ្លាសវៃ។ (True strength is not measured by size, but by wisdom, discipline, and unity. Even the smallest can conquer the giant if they possess courage and keen intellect.)
កាលពីព្រេងនាយ ក្នុងព្រៃធំនៃប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ដែលសម្បូរទៅដោយសត្វព្រៃគ្រប់ប្រភេទ មានសត្វដំរីមួយក្បាលឈ្មោះ ដំរីភាពខ្លាំង រស់នៅយ៉ាងមានអំណាច។
Long ago, in the great forests of Cambodia, rich with all manner of wildlife, lived an elephant named Domrei Pheap Khlaing (The Mighty Elephant), who ruled with great power.
ដំរីនេះមានចិត្តអំនួតណាស់ ដោយសារតែខ្លួនមានមាឌធំជាងគេ មានកម្លាំងខ្លាំងក្លាជាងគេ ហើយតែងមើលងាយដល់សត្វតូចៗទាំងអស់។
This Elephant was exceedingly arrogant because his body was the largest, and his strength unmatched. He constantly looked down upon all the smaller creatures.
ឯនៅក្បែរជើងរបស់ដំរីនោះ មានសំបុកស្រមោចក្រហមមួយ ពួកវាខិតខំធ្វើការរាល់ថ្ងៃ មិនដែលឈប់សម្រាកឡើយ ទោះជាក្ដៅ ឬភ្លៀង។
Right near the Elephant’s foot, there was a nest of red ants. They worked tirelessly every day, never resting, regardless of heat or rain.
ថ្ងៃមួយ ដំរីដើរកាត់សំបុកស្រមោច ហើយស្រែកឡូឡា៖ «ឱពួកស្រមោចដ៏តូចអើយ! ជីវិតពួកឯងពិតជាលំបាកណាស់ គ្មានថ្ងៃបានសុខឡើយ»។
One day, the Elephant walked right past the ant hill and bellowed: ‘Oh, you tiny ants! Your life is truly wretched, you know no comfort or rest!’
នេយ្យស្រមោច ជាមេកើយ មានមាឌតូចតែមានចិត្តធំ ក៏ឆ្លើយតបទៅវិញថា៖ «លោកម្ចាស់ដំរី! កុំមើលងាយរូបតូចអី! កម្លាំងមិនមែនវាស់ដោយទំហំទេ»។
Neay Sramoch, the leader, small in stature but great in spirit, replied: ‘My Lord Elephant! Do not scorn our small size! Strength is not measured by mere volume.’
ដំរីឮដូច្នេះ ក៏ផ្ទុះសំណើចយ៉ាងខ្លាំង រង្គើដើមឈើទាំងព្រៃ។ «ហាហា! ពួកឯងហ៊ាននិយាយប្រកួតកម្លាំងនឹងខ្ញុំឬ? ឯងមួយអាចចូលក្នុងភ្នែកខ្ញុំក៏មិនបានផង»។
Hearing this, the Elephant burst into thunderous laughter, shaking the very trees of the forest. ‘Ha ha! Do you dare challenge my strength? You are so tiny, you couldn’t even fit into my eyeball!’
នេយ្យស្រមោច និយាយដោយទឹកមុខស្ងប់ស្ងៀមថា៖ «បើដូច្នោះមែន យើងសូមប្រកួតមួយដើម្បីបង្ហាញថា តើអ្នកណាមានប្រាជ្ញាឈ្លាសវៃពិតប្រាកដ»។
Neay Sramoch spoke with a calm demeanor: ‘If that is the case, we propose a competition to show who possesses true wisdom and intelligence.’
ដំរី ដោយជឿជាក់លើខ្លួនឯងពេក ក៏យល់ព្រម ដោយមិនដឹងថា ការមើលងាយនេះនឹងនាំមកនូវមេរៀនជីវិតដ៏ឈឺចាប់ឡើយ។
The Elephant, overly confident in himself, agreed instantly, unaware that this scorn would lead to a painful life lesson.
ការប្រកួតគឺ៖ ដំរីត្រូវប្រើកម្លាំងបោសសំអាតព្រៃ ហើយស្រមោចត្រូវប្រើប្រាជ្ញាដើម្បីធ្វើឲ្យដំរីទទួលស្គាល់ថា មាឌតូចក៏មានអំណាចដែរ។
The challenge was set: The Elephant would use brute force to clear the jungle, and the Ant would use wit to make the Elephant acknowledge that small stature can still hold power.
នេយ្យស្រមោចបានកោះហៅសមាជិកទាំងអស់ មកប្រជុំគ្នា។ គាត់បង្រៀនពួកគេអំពីយុទ្ធសាស្ត្រ និងសារៈសំខាន់នៃការរួបរួមគ្នាក្នុងសង្គ្រាម។
Neay Sramoch summoned all the members of his colony to assemble. He taught them strategy and the vital importance of unity in battle.
ដំរីចាប់ផ្តើមការងាររបស់ខ្លួន ដោយប្រើកម្លាំងច្រានដើមឈើ បំបែកដុំថ្ម។ ព្រៃទាំងមូលរំជួលដោយអំណាចដ៏មហិមារបស់វា។
The Elephant began his task, using force to shove over trees and shatter rocks. The entire forest trembled under his immense power.
ពេលដំរីអស់កម្លាំងបន្តិច នេយ្យស្រមោចក៏បញ្ជូនទ័ពតូចរបស់ខ្លួន គឺស្រមោចក្រហមរាប់ពាន់ក្បាល ធ្វើការវាយលុកស្ងាត់ៗ។
When the Elephant grew slightly tired, Neay Sramoch dispatched his tiny army—thousands of crimson ants—to launch a silent, calculated assault.
ស្រមោចជាច្រើនបានលូនចូលទៅក្នុងប្រម៉ោយរបស់ដំរី ហើយខ្លះទៀតចូលទៅក្នុងត្រចៀក និងរន្ធច្រមុះរបស់វា។
Many ants crawled into the Elephant’s trunk, while others entered his ears and nostrils, finding the most sensitive entry points.
ស្រមោចនាំគ្នាខាំទិចៗ តាមសរសៃប្រសាទដ៏ទន់ភ្លន់បំផុតរបស់ដំរី បង្កជាការឈឺចាប់ដែលទំហំធំមិនអាចទប់ទល់បានឡើយ។
The ants bit tiny, sharp nips along the elephant’s most delicate nerve endings, causing a pain that brute size could not withstand.
ដំរីភាពខ្លាំង រត់ទៅមកទាំងមិនដឹងធ្វើអ្វី ព្រោះកម្លាំងទាំងអស់របស់វា គ្មានប្រយោជន៍នឹងទប់ទល់នឹងសត្រូវដែលមើលមិនឃើញនេះឡើយ។
Domrei Pheap Khlaing ran back and forth frantically, knowing not what to do, because all his strength was useless against this unseen enemy.
ទីបំផុត ដំរីបានដួលលុតជង្គង់ សុំអង្វរដល់នេយ្យស្រមោច ឲ្យបញ្ឈប់ការវាយប្រហារ ព្រមទាំងទទួលស្គាល់ថា ខ្លួនបានចាញ់ហើយ។
Finally, the Elephant fell to his knees, begging Neay Sramoch to cease the attack, and admitted that he had been defeated.
នេយ្យស្រមោច ក៏បញ្ជាឲ្យទ័ពរបស់ខ្លួនដកថយ ដោយនិយាយថា៖ «ចូរចាំថា លោកម្ចាស់ដំរី! កម្លាំងដែលឥតប្រាជ្ញា គឺគ្រាន់តែជាទម្ងន់ដែលគ្មានតម្លៃប៉ុណ្ណោះ»។
Neay Sramoch commanded his troops to retreat, saying: ‘Remember this, Lord Elephant! Strength without wisdom is merely worthless weight.’
ចាប់ពីពេលនោះមក ដំរីលែងមើលងាយសត្វតូចៗទៀតហើយ ហើយរាល់គ្នាបានដឹងថា ភាពអង់អាច និងប្រាជ្ញា គឺជាអាវុធដ៏មុតថ្លាបំផុតរបស់ជីវិត។
From that day forward, the Elephant never scorned small creatures again, and everyone learned that courage and wisdom are life’s sharpest weapons.
