កញ្ជ្រោងហ្វីអូណាជាកញ្ជ្រោងដែលខ្មាស់អៀនណាស់។ នាងចូលចិត្តមើលមេអំបៅរាំលេងនៅក្នុងវាលស្មៅ ប៉ុន្តែនាងអៀនពេកមិនហ៊ានលេងជាមួយនរណាទេ។
Fiona the fox was very shy. She loved to watch the butterflies dance in the meadow, but she was too timid to play with anyone.
នៅព្រឹកមួយដែលមានពន្លឺថ្ងៃដ៏ស្រស់បំព្រង ពេលកំពុងដើរតែម្នាក់ឯង ហ្វីអូណាបានឃើញមេអំបៅដ៏ស្រស់ស្អាតបំផុតដែលនាងមិនធ្លាប់បានឃើញ។ ស្លាបរបស់វាមានពណ៌ដូចឥន្ទធនូតូចៗ។
One sunny morning, while walking all alone, Fiona spotted the most beautiful butterfly she had ever seen. It had wings like tiny rainbows.
ហ្វីអូណាបានដើរតាមមេអំបៅនោះ ក្រញាំតូចៗរបស់នាងបានដើរយ៉ាងស្រទន់នៅលើដីដែលពោរពេញទៅដោយស្លែ។ នាងបានខ្សឹបប្រាប់ខ្លួនឯងថា “អូ! ស្អាតណាស់”។
Fiona followed the butterfly, her little paws pattering softly on the mossy ground. “Oh, how lovely,” she whispered to herself.
មេអំបៅបានហោះឡើងខ្ពស់ ហើយទំនៅលើមែកឈើដែលនាងមិនអាចឈោងដល់។ ហ្វីអូណាបានព្យាយាមលូកដៃទៅចាប់ តែឥតប្រយោជន៍។
The butterfly flew up, up, up, and landed on a branch, just out of reach. Fiona stretched her nose as high as it could go, but it was no use.
រំពេចនោះ មានកញ្ជ្រោងតូចមួយទៀតបានដើរកាត់។ គេឈ្មោះ ភីប។ គេបានឃើញហ្វីអូណាកំពុងសម្លឹងមើលមែកឈើខ្ពស់នោះដោយទឹកមុខក្រៀមក្រំ។
Suddenly, another little fox trotted by. His name was Pip. He saw Fiona looking sadly at the high branch.
ភីបមានគំនិតមួយ! គេបានរុញវល្លិដែលព្យួរយ៉ាងវែងនោះថ្នមៗ។ មែកឈើក៏បានរង្គើបន្តិច។
Pip had an idea! He gently nudged a long, dangling vine. The branch wiggled, just a little.
ការរង្គើបន្តិចនោះគឺគ្រប់គ្រាន់ហើយ! មេអំបៅឥន្ទធនូបានហោះចុះមកក្រោម ហើយទំនៅលើចុងច្រមុះរបស់ហ្វីអូណា។
The little wiggle was enough! The rainbow butterfly floated down and landed right on the tip of Fiona’s nose.
ហ្វីអូណាបានសើច។ ជាលើកដំបូងដែលនាងមិនមានអារម្មណ៍ខ្មាស់អៀនសោះ។ នាងបានមើលទៅកញ្ជ្រោងមួយទៀត ហើយនិយាយថា “អរគុណ!”
Fiona giggled. For the first time, she wasn’t shy at all. She looked at the other fox and said, “Thank you!”
ភីបញញឹមយ៉ាងស្រស់ហើយនិយាយថា “មិនអីទេ!”។ “ខ្ញុំឈ្មោះ ភីប។ តើអ្នកចង់រត់ដេញចាប់មេអំបៅជាមួយខ្ញុំទេ?”
“You’re welcome!” said Pip with a big smile. “My name is Pip. Would you like to chase butterflies with me?”
ហ្វីអូណាបាននិយាយដោយរីករាយថា “ចង់!”។ ហើយមិត្តថ្មីទាំងពីរបានចំណាយពេលពេញមួយថ្ងៃលេងជាមួយគ្នានៅក្នុងវាលស្មៅដែលមានពន្លឺថ្ងៃ និងស្រស់ស្អាត។
“Yes!” said Fiona happily. And the two new friends spent the rest of the day playing together in the sunny, colorful meadow.
